Jane Alwis, written capstone
- This capstone paper presents two pedagogical initiatives undertaken while in the Learning, Teaching and Educational Transformation (LTET) program and places these in context of longer term moves in my work and life and my studies in LTET and the Critical and Creative Thinking (CCT) graduate program. The first initiative concerns the academic and social success of the international students at the high school where I teach. I present materials from workshops developed to help educators provide the support required by their students living and studying in a foreign country and clarify when divergent cultural norms—especially those around behavior of students which can be readily confused with learning disabilities—are impeding the learning of international students. The second initiative concerns researching Writing Studio Pedagogy and its application in history teaching. This led to the writing of a chapter in a book on Writing Studio Pedagogy. Reflection on my personal and professional development in LTET and CCT indicates not only my ongoing commitment to developing educational programs to assist students with documented needs, but also my interest in educational research and in supporting reflective educational practice.

Feedback Comments to Student:
Your answers addressed all the elements of the questions, linking what you learned to your specific work situation where you are mindfully and enthusiastically exploring the possibilities of technology-mediated learning. If you agree, I recommend that LTET make your answers available for future students-they won't be able to plagiarise, but some students need to see examples of what it means to address what is requested in each question.
